Head Coaches: Renee and Jeremy Redgate
My name is Renee Redgate and I am a grade 8 PE, Drama and English teacher at John Paul ll Collegiate. I was born and raised in Provost, Alberta where I was part of the recreational and competitive rope skip club (Provost Hot Peppers) for nine years and proceeded to coach for two. I began this amazing, life changing sport at the age of 6 and still continue to skip today. I was a several time gold medalist at Rope Skip Alberta provincials in all of the MASTER events as well as competed and placed at a National level in multiple MASTER events. For the past seven years, I have been instructing the recreational skipping club, “Happy Feet” as well as the competitive team, “Da Feet”. My husband, Jeremy, was part of his Slave Lake Roos when he was in grade school and skipping competitively for several years. He is an avid cross-fitter in which brings our "power" and "Endurance" competitors to a whole new level!
I am a black belt in Taekwondo (Adams Taekwondo), played on multiple sports teams in college, still competitively play fastball, volleyball, curl, golf, coach multiple high levels of sports and have a very fit and active lifestyle. In each and everyone one of these sports I incorporate skipping and it has always been a part of my life. I am incredibly passionate about what I do and the long term benefits of jump rope. I vow to ensure that I do my very best each and every day to not only develop the skills necessary for your child to be successful, but ensure they always feel safe and cared for.
Junior Coaches: Rylan Slapman, McKenzie Reid, Teagan Slapman & Declan McLeod
Our junior coaches are students from our competitive program who have attained a high level of skill through training, workshops and competition (Locally, Provincially and Nationally). I work closely with all coaches and students to ensure that students receive high quality instruction.
